- INTERVIEW BY ORNELLA JONG - TALK ABOUT HER FEELING
Ornella– Hey Morgane, where are you from and how old are you? I'm from the south of France, near Toulon! Ornella – How were you discovered? I was discovered by Johann Mapaga on the Champs Elyssées, two years ago. Ornella – What does the fashion world represent for you? 2 words: beauty and creativity Ornella – Are you aware you are the little star of the Spring 2012 season? You haven't even been a « new face » and you are already exclusive and signed in the most confidential agency worldwide: SILENT PARIS! How do you feel after such a compliment? First of all, thank you, but I think I still have a lot to learn and to prove in this industry. I am very lucky to have such an incredible mother agency, Johann Mapaga and an agency Silent which takes care of me! Ornella – If I say Lara Stone, you say...? A modern day Brigitte Bardot Ornella – If I say Tom Ford, you say...? Perfectionist, rare and elegant. One of the most incredible persons that I have met so far alongside the fashion stylist Joe McKenna. I was lucky enough to walk his spring 2012 show in London. Ornella - You know Morgane, I have a bit of a problem...I am often getting into arguments with your agent because I never have an immediate « crush » on a girl. The only one who I loved from the second I saw her, was 5 years ago, and that was Magdalena Fracowiack, and I was right because she is still on top – and I am still in love...Now that I am a fan of yours, you are already a BABY STAR. One year from now, would you say hello to me if we ran into each other on the street? If I am lucky enough to still be around in a year! Anything can happen! To answer the question I think that someone's true beauty is their simplicity and of course i would say hello because i 'm cool girl. Ornella - Do you think you will still be in the charts 1 year from now? I hope so, I am working on it with my agency and my agent. Ornella – If I say vintage leather motorcycle jacket and skinny jeans, or satin YSL dress, which would you choose, and why? Without even thinking, I would say; the leather jacket and the jeans, it's cooler! But I have a soft spot for the leather motorcycle jacket and the YSL dress, a style with more creativity and research. Ornella : OH yeah i like your response! Clever girl, you are mischievous! Ornella - If I say Prada or Miu Miu which would you choose, or why? Both, because Miu Miu and Prada are both by the same designer, Miuccia Prada. Miu Miu represents the little girl; pretty and 'smart' and Prada; the woman who transcends time! I've learned my lesson well, no? Ornella - Perfectly Miss Warnier ! Ornella – Cite two of your idols, and why? I unfortunately do not have any hollywood idols, or american stars like Lady Gaga or Britney Spears, even though I like movies and music. I would say I have a inclination towards those who have marked our history. Ornella – Tell me 2 things that you hate, and why? Hypocrisy and lies, because they are two things which deprive someone of the truth. Ornella- Tell me two of your dreams, and why? I have so many; I think a dream must remain something personal, lets say I am a bit superstitious. Ornella - Another great response Ornella - You have quite a bit of insight, at your age I am a bit surprised....there seems to be a war currently between the young and the older generation, no? What do you think of Tavi Gevinson? Rookie, wild but talented. I don't have a deep knowledge on bloggers, other than a few images and notes from a few such as Tavi Gevinson. I would say: « It isn't surprising to be a good blogger, the only surprise is to be a talented blogger, » that's what I read in the last British Vogue. I think that it is well said. Ornella- And do you think of me as old? Noooooo LOL Ornella - Alright Morgane! This was all very cool. I wish you luck, and to kill it in Paris! Tea or coffee? Neither, they turn your teeth yellow, but I would love to serve you a cup of tea... Ornella -Beautiful and well-mannered. Interview by Ornella Jong |
- INTERWIEW BY PONY RYDER - TALK ABOUT HER BEAUTY
PONY RYDER: Samantha, ammm, how would you describe your style?
SAMANTHA GRADOVILLE: I would describe my style as a sort of hippie/rocker. I really just like being comfortable and wearing what ever I feel like at the time. I don't wear heels any longer than I have too. And I tend to wear a lot of black. I always end up buying things in black, just because I know it will go with everything else in my closet, its a terrible cycle, I know.
PONY RYDER: Where do you shop for your clothes?
SAMANTHA GRADOVILLE: I love vintage shops! I hate it when I see someone wearing the same thing as me!! Buying clothes from a vintage store guarantees that that will never happen. And plus I actually like searching around the store for that really cool find. Other than that I also like shopping at Zara, Top Shop, H&M, American Apparel..
PONY RYDER: What’s your favorite fast food restaurant?SAMANTHA GRADOVILLE: My favorite fast food place would have to be Taco Bell. I have loved that place ever since I can remember. And since I’m vegetarian, not many fast food restaurants have no-meat options, but with Taco Bell, I just substitute beans for the beef or chicken, and voila! Amazing
PONY RYDER: How do you maintain yours skin?
SAMANTHA GRADOVILLE: I have to thank my parents for giving me some great genes, because my makeup and skincare routine are very minimal. I always moisturize in the morning with Dove Moisture Facial Lotion. I use mineral powder makeup instead of foundation. It allows your skin to breathe more during the day, and it looks more natural as well.
At night I make sure I wash my face. I usually use Clean and Clear Morning Burst. I know it says you’re supposed to use it in the morning, but I actually prefer to use it before I go to bed.
Every other day I use a face scrub to feel a bit refreshed. And in the summer I use a toner as well, in the winter my faces is already so dry from the weather I don’t need it.
PONY RYDER: The best advice that make up artist gave you is...
SAMANTHA GRADOVILLE: Drink more water!! I recently had a makeup artist tell me she could tell I was thirsty at the end of my shoot simply because of the way the makeup was laying on my face.
She said it was easy to tell the difference between the beginning of the shoot, and afterwards. I hadn’t been drinking much and my skin had gotten dehydrated.
